Letter from the Education Secretary

Dear Brookmead Families

As you know, I received a letter from Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, recognising the excellent outcomes achieved by our disadvantaged pupils at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. A copy of this letter is attached to this email.

The letter congratulates the school on performance that places Brookmead among the very best nationally, describing this as a significant achievement and a clear reflection of the dedication of our staff and the hard work of our pupils. It states:

“Congratulations to you and your team on the excellent outcomes the disadvantaged pupils at Brookmead School achieved at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. Your school’s performance places it among the very best nationally, and this is a significant achievement.

This success reflects the dedication of your staff and the hard work of your pupils. It shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together. Thank you for everything you do to give children the best possible opportunities to succeed.”

We are incredibly proud to have received this recognition. It affirms what we believe strongly at Brookmead - that high expectations for all children, inspiring teaching, and bringing learning to life make a genuine difference. The opportunities we provide, educational trips, enrichment workshops, author visits, and a challenging, rich, engaging curriculum all play a vital role in supporting our children to thrive and achieve their very best.

This achievement belongs to our whole school community. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. Together, we ensure that we nurture and inspire every child, whilst giving them opportunities to challenge themselves to achieve their very best.

Warm regards

Mrs Taylor
